Day 2 of the MLB Draft: Blue Jays Draftees

NOTE: This post will be updated as the Blue Jays make more selections and more information becomes available on their draftees.

  • Round 2, Pick 21 (81st overall): Chase DeJong, RHP, Woodrow Wilson High School. Fastball sits 87–91MPH, but has reached 93MPH, and he has a plus curveball. He had a 1.08 ERA this season, and also batted .400. Last year he went 10–2 with a 1.08 ERA and 98 strikeouts.
  • Round 3, Pick 17 (112th overall): Anthony Alford, OF, Petal High School. Was ranked as the No. 56 Draft prospect by MLB.com, but has a commitment to play college football and told teams he would not sign if drafted. Hit .390 with 7 home runs, 35 runs batted in, 1.181 OPS and was 19 for 20 in stolen bases this season in Mississippi.
  • Round 4, Pick 17 (145th overall): Donahue Tucker, RHP, Stetson University. Went 2–1 with 5.20 ERA in 27.2 innings in relief at Stetson.
  • Round 5, Pick 17 (175th overall): Brad Delatte, LHP, Nicholls State University. Went 0–2 with 2.86 ERA, 35 strikeouts in 34.2 innings in 2012.
  • Round 6, Pick 17 (205th overall): Eric Phillips, 3B, Georgia Southern University. Hit .391 with 5 homers, 54 RBI and a 1.022 OPS this season.
  • Round 7, Pick 17 (235th overall): Ian Parmley, OF, Liberty University. Hit .312 with 30 stolen bases in 34 attempts this season for the Liberty Flames.
  • Round 8, Pick 17 (265th overall): Tucker Frawley, C, Coastal Carolina University.
  • Round 9, Pick 17 (295th overall): Jordan Leyland, 1B, Azusa Pacific University. Hit .419 with 22 home runs, 74 RBI and an .802 slugging percentage this season.
  • Round 10, Pick 17 (325th overall): Alex Azor, OF, US Naval Academy. He batted .364, which was the third highest in the league he played in. His commitment to the Navy could make him a difficult sign.
  • Round 11, Pick 17 (355th overall): Grant Heyman, OF, Pittsford Sutherland High School.
  • Round 12, Pick 17 (385th overall): Ryan Kellogg, LHP, Henry Street High School. He was the top Canadian in this year's draft, and was expected to go around the 6th round. He's committed to Arizona State, but he might sign with his home town team. Chris Toman wrote a piece about him which you can read here.
  • Round 13, Pick 17 (415th overall): John Silviano, C, Summit Christian School.
  • Round 14, Pick 17 (445th overall): Zakery Wasilewski, LHP, Tazewell High School.
  • Round 15, Pick 17 (475th overall): Ryan Borucki, LHP, Mundelein High School.
